STILLNESS

CONCERNS: Becoming quiet at the end of an active cycle; acting out of the stillness; being the stillness.

  1. We cannot be misled by circumstance or emotion if we establish discernment and clarity before initiating an action.
  2. Here we are advised to be still and not try and interfere if someone who is impervious to our input continues to head into trouble.
  3. It is not correct to use our minds to impose an artificial stillness upon our hearts or bodies; allow the mind to settle and what is active will naturally become quiet.
  4. Allow the body to come to rest.
  5. Speech is a form of energy, words have power; used accurately and responsibly they can be constructive; used carelessly they can harm.
  6. Stillness, serenity and stability are indicated here as a way of life.

COMMENT: Inner stillness gives rise to outer stillness. Inner stillness gives rise to correct action in the world.
