OBSTRUCTIONS
CONCERNS: Obstructions, difficulties and our responses to them; seeing obstacles as opportunities for refining and reducing our reactivities; becoming aware of the utility of obstruction as a stimulus to growth and creativity; employing periods of quiet focus in order to gather energy for a breakthrough.
- We will encounter obstacles if we move forward now; it is best to wait for an opening.
- It is correct to press forward through obstructions when we are on a mission of selfless service for a higher cause.
- By going forward now we will meet with obstacles; by returning to regroup, we will strengthen our forces.
- An unaided advance will encounter obstructions; we should return for help.
- When faced with great difficulty, our determination to work through it without indulging in fear or frustration will create the opening for help to come to us from within and without.
- Reaching an impasse can stimulate us to great internal concentration and thus, we can break through the obstacle.
COMMENT: While it is usually best to deal sensitively with obstructions, there are times when direct confrontation is necessary. These are situations in which our egos play no motivating role, situations of duty, service and sacrifice. If the ego is obstructed, we should examine the conflict and wait until we are clear enough to proceed; if the path is obstructed and we are egolessly motivated by a correctly perceived greater good, we can proceed against the obstacles and the dangers without blame.
