无妄

SPONTANEITY

CONCERNS: What arises without premeditation, therefore, what is unforeseen, innocent, without artifice or ego, genuine, natural, of pure motive.

1. The thought that arises as an unmediated impulse from the heart is a reliable basis for action; learn to separate it from impulsiveness.
2. Attend to the work at hand; avoid engaging in speculation over the outcome. Results are the natural outcome of our work so there is no need to “produce” them.
3. In certain situations, we may find ourselves blamed even if we are innocent; be conscious of possible unanticipated exposure.
4. By responding unhesitatingly to our authentic inner guidance we can avoid becoming entrapped by selfish, improper considerations.
5. Even though the situation looks ominous, there is no real problem, and no remedial action need be taken.
6. Any action taken at this time, no matter how innocent, will run against the tide and be frustrated.

COMMENT: True spontaneity is an arising out of the Divine Order and is a faithful expression of it. Our stripping away of ego permits access to this original creative energy.
