INCREASING LIGHT

CONCERNS: Progress that can be seen; evolution and maturation in consonance with the Divine Order; the natural blossoming forth of awareness, understanding and illumination; manifesting developed virtue by serving others.

1. As we start out, our progress may not be recognized by others; we should persevere in a steadfast, correct course and let things develop naturally, without expecting approval.
2. Even if we cannot see any progress in what we are doing, we should keep at it with strong inner faith until results become apparent.
3. Here we can proceed with our actions because we are in harmony with the Divine Order.
4. Attachment to progress impairs our clarity.
5. We can progress best when we are not motivated by outcome.
6. It is appropriate to be vigorous with our self-correction but we must not become harsh with ourselves or others.

COMMENT: Progress must not be allowed to become an end in itself or we will be producing “progress” rather than developing and growing. Accomplishments may be seen when reviewing our actions; they should not be the motivation for what we do.
