NAVIGATING THE RAPIDS

CONCERNS: Remaining true to one’s inner self no matter what happens; therefore, navigating through danger without becoming destabilized by the ego’s preoccupation with loss and destruction.

1. It is dangerous to enter a dangerous situation and not believe it is dangerous. Here we are trapped by our beliefs, fantasies and habit of denial.
2. In getting out of danger and difficulty our greatest asset is our ability to examine the situation lucidly, uninfluenced by a reactive mind, so that we can then act appropriately.
3. Even though it is difficult to remain patient in a threatening situation, we must restrain our impulsiveness and wait until a real opening occurs.
4. Real sincerity flows from our natural, unfiltered responses; with them we can greatly diminish any threat.
5. By becoming moderate, steady and circumspect we can function and mature without creating a dangerous environment.
6. In danger and not taking it seriously, we are in dire straits.

COMMENT: The fundamental basis of our inner selves is universal love, as it is the fundamental basis of the Divine Order. Danger arises when our actions and expressions are not in compliance with this love; we go off course. The heart is the Pole Star of our inner constellation and its impulses are available to the clarified mind.
